Sometimes during puberty, the mammary glands in young men are excessively swelling and look like female breasts. In these cases, referred to by the term gynecomastia, the timely removal of excess subcutaneous fat, the gland or skin, is necessary. There are some cases where it is required to make the operation immediately after the completion of the growth, in order to avoid psychological problems. Depending on the applied surgical technique there are scars or not. The patient needs to wear a special band for several weeks. These types of surgery are performed under general anesthesia or, depending on the case, only with local anesthesia or sedation.
